Vaginal Smell

You are probably wondering “Why a website about vaginal smell?” (my husband wonders the same thing all the time!). Well, I can tell you it is a little embarrassing to admit that I struggled with this issue…particularly in a public forum like a website! I’ve had it since my first pregnancy. I might as well tell you that I also experienced some itching and some discharge along with the vaginal odour. It was a package deal, or so it seemed. I didn’t actually tie them all together at first, probably because they didn’t all happen at the same time. But, I’ll tell you right now, I learned from personal experience that the vaginal fishy smell is often accompanied by other symptoms, like itching, discharge, and even a “slimy feeling”. You know what I am talking about, don’t you? The doctors like to call this package deal “Bacterial Vaginosis” or BV. Well it took me awhile before I figured out what was going on with my body.

I went through quite a bit before I found a cure for what I was experiencing. I wanted to create a forum (this website), where I could share my experience with other women of the world. I know others are struggling big time with the same things I went through. And believe me when I tell you that it is a world-wide problem…not just for North American women. And we women like to talk and share. So, that is the reason for my blog; I want to share with you what i learned. To be honest with you, I didn’t figure out the cure myself. I got a little help. Next post I will talk a little about what I learned about this condition and share that information with you. But, then, I want to dedicate some time to tell you my story about how I beat this thing and brought some normalcy back to my intimate life with my husband and to my own self-confidence.

I found out for myself that antibiotics were more of a temporary solution to bacterial vaginosis and, thus, the vaginal smell coming from my body. I also found out that some of the things that I tried at home were effective to some degree, but not long term solutions in and of themselves. Again, I’ll share my story with you in a bit.
